Every great thing in existence starts with inspiration. For me, inspiration stems from comic books. It all started in elementary school when I cracked open a Calvin and Hobbes book by the amazing Bill Waterson for the first time. The powerful character development and bizarre plots were presented in such a simple, digestible format. Tales from an angsty kid with his identity-imagined stuffed tiger would keep me sucked in for hours. This encouraged me to make comics of my own-one pagers mostly, and the art was never in the slightest impressive. I used this crutch to my advantage by strengthening my writing and studying as many styles as I could to where the art wouldn’t be the primary focus. Fast forward to adulthood where I work an office job, have 3 children, and am affected by politics and modern day inflation-yet comic books are my safe haven. Still lacking in the art department, it is now my goal to find creative teams to work with to bring my ideas to life. BoxBoy & Whiskers is just the beginning of an entire universe that exists in my head (at least for now). I hope you enjoy what you see here, and please know that there is much more to come!
